The local brewery Hansa Borg Bryggerier AS has accepted to act as the responsible importer during the Hanseatic Days 2016. This job includes also taking the role as responsible for custom. There will be more detailed information later but we have already summarized some main rules and regulations on import of beverages and food.
Tax and fees will apply for all goods intended for sale in Norway
Goods / Products that have to be declared:
By importing alcohol the following taxes, fees and duties have to be paid
The alcohol tax is calculated from the percentage of alcohol in the product. As higher the percentage of alcohol as higher tax will be charged. (I.e. beer within between 3,7 till 4,7% of alcohol calculate a tax of NOK 20,77 per liter / € 2,3 per liter)
VAT will be charged for all declared goods:
All participants from abroad with goods for custom clearance /entry must pre-advise the goods by issuing a specification/declaration with a net value of the products inside a given time limit. This time limit will be absolute and Hansa Borg will not act as responsible importer for those who carry with them goods that are not pre-advised.
The specification/declaration with the net value will be used to estimate a pre-payment of taxes, fees, duties and VAT towards the Norwegian Custom.
Hansa Borg has a long term relation with Bring Cargo AS and Bring will support and administrate all issues regarding custom formalities. Bring Cargo will also be available for questions about freight and forwarding. For the participants who carry with them an ATA carnet for the exhibition material, Bring will handle these documents.
